I was wondering if there has been any thoughts around this possibility. Right now we have the T-Rex, Mammoth, and Beasts not to mention character based DT's. Because some of these last more than one turn I suppose you could say a second DT doesnt happen while a DT is in play...but if that rare event combo were to happen would you really want to?! I think it would be cool if the T-Rex for example went after other DT models. With other DT scenarios coming out it would be interesting to have a matrix of various beasts and characters and their AI in relation to each other as more are added? Perhaps too much work for a very rare happening but it seems like a great way to continue to further the narrative.
cheers

We did have double trouble events interacting. For example we had Zachory on the board who got shot up by the Nazi, who then got into base contact and ended up getting floored. Problem with things like two T-rex events are they will follow the same path like a conga line. I think that the direction the T-rex comes on from should be randomly determined. Also the idea that some of the characters/monsters etc from DT events can just head forwards and walk down holes etc is not very thematic. We house rule that they walk around the obstacle, if unsure what path they take we roll for it. I may devise a DT behaviour chart that is rolled on. One for Monsters/beasts and the other for people/characters. Making sure all behaviour is easily determined by one roll of a dice and one chart consulted to keep the flow of the game fast.
yes that is a great idea very thematic. Another thought is double trouble beasts and characters could have a rock paper scissor relationship to each other. Mammoth always kills X , X always kills explorer etc It doesnt always have to be kills either it could be any outcome that detains or dispatches the other DT
Yeah, I would maybe make it so that a t-rex could get into a fight with some other beasts (which could cause problems for the factions…especially in a King Kong type way) but would still instantly kill faction figures.
It'd be kind of neat if a t-rex could fight say a pack of velociraptors, grab one with it's large mouth and throw it (maybe I was watching Jurassic Park recently, maybe I wasn't), but, you'd roll on the direction the raptor was being thrown and how far and if that intersects with a faction figure(s) they would take D10/2 damage, which could possibly be fatal.
Good memory I forgot that was mentioned in the demo. I like the idea of situations were it is forced into a coop for an event. Currently if there were to be two DT's a T-Rex as I read the rules would still automatically kill anything in its path without a role etc including the Mammoth from the recent added scenario. Because the militant T-Rex doesnt have a buff stat its not intended to be foughtin hand to hand. Perhaps as more DT's are added it will get a buff stat so something like a triceratops or another large predator can defend itself.
In the demo video (and I'm pretty sure in the rules as well) they state that you can have multiple double trouble events at the same time, including duplicates of the same event (multiple t-rex for example, although I don't think duplicates of named characters makes much sense).
I was thinking that for the Ravenous Beasts, because I want all sorts of random beasts (you mentioned this in one of your videos as well, having giant bugs and things), that maybe the stats get tweaked a bit based on the specific beast.
A matrix for how various AI interact with each other would be great. Like, maybe the Nazi spooks easily and will shoot at the T-Rex if it's within 12" of the Nazi, which would then cause the Rex to always move towards the Nazi.
It'd be interesting to see some other types of Double Trouble events. Maybe if a specific beast enters the game (or if some cataclysmic event happens, aliens, meteors, &c) the two opposing factions have to team up to deal with that event and while the Double Trouble is in play they can't do damage to each other, effectively turning into a co-op game for a turn or two (which could mess with your strategy for meeting win conditions later).
It could potentially be a rare phase in the game, but could be full of potential for experimenting with mechanics.
